The Junior Golf Program at Concord Country Club offers an opportunity for friendship, participation, instruction, competition, and a great deal of fun for children ages six to eighteen (6-18). The program is multifaceted and is structured for young children just beginning to learn the game of golf. It also offers inter-club competitions for experienced high school golfers. These young people make new friends, learn about the game of golf, and experience some success and frustration (just like adult golfers).
PGA Family Course Program
Concord Country Club features the PGA Family Course.
This enables kids and families to enjoy the game more by playing from appropriate yardages based on ability.
The program, which was launched in a partnership with the PGA of America and U.S. Kids Golf, gives families the chance to play golf at Concord Country Club in a non-intimidating environment.
The PGA Family Course Program enables Concord Country Club to turn the regulation golf course into a “short course” experience using PGA Family Tee Markers. The Family Course Tee Markers are set at yardages that allow golfers to reach greens in regulation, shoot lower scores, play in less time and most importantly, have a fun and positive golf experience.
“The traditional golf course set-up is not conducive to families enjoying the game together, because most regulation golf holes are far too long for kids and beginners,” said Dan Van Horn, Founder and CEO of U.S. Kids Golf. “We’re delighted that Concord Country Club has adopted the Family Course Program to make the golf experience more inviting for the whole family.”
The introduction of shorter, family-friendly courses coincides with Play Golf America’s Family Golf Month and Get Golf Ready initiatives, both designed to make the transition into the game easy for golfers of all ages.
Concord Country Club has become one of more than 1,400 golf courses nationwide that have installed the PGA Family Course.
